Chromite powder exhibits good friction-enhancing effects at both low and high temperatures and also serves to clean the counterpart. It provides excellent friction enhancement within the temperature range of 100-250°C. In friction materials, the commonly used chromite powder has a Cr₂O₃ content of 25%-45%. The higher the Cr₂O₃ content, the greater the friction-enhancing effect. During use, attention should be paid to controlling its dosage and particle size. The appropriate dosage should not exceed 7%, and the particle fineness should be above 325 mesh. While excessive dosage and overly coarse particle size can increase the friction coefficient, they may also lead to significantly increased wear and noise.
