Odorless, non-toxic. Decomposes above 1600°C. Soluble in hot concentrated sulfuric acid, insoluble in water, organic substances, inorganic acids, and caustic alkali solutions; soluble in hot sulfurous acid and hot concentrated sulfuric acid. Chemically stable, reduced to barium sulfide when heated with carbon. Does not discolor when exposed to hydrogen sulfide or toxic gases in the air. Main uses: One of the basic raw materials in the chemical industry, primarily used in the production of inorganic chemical fertilizers, non-ferrous metal smelting, steel pickling, petroleum refining, petrochemicals, textile printing and dyeing, national defense **, pesticides, pharmaceutical leather manufacturing, and coking industries. The company's annual output is 48,000 tons.
