Semi-refined quartz sand

Quartz sand filter media is a type of water treatment filter material made from natural quartz ore through processes such as crushing, washing, screening, drying, and secondary screening. There are two main types of commonly used quartz sand filter media: one is ordinary quartz sand, and the other is refined acid-washed sand. Quartz sand filter media features high hardness, good corrosion resistance, high density, strong mechanical strength, excellent dirt-holding capacity, and a long service life, making it an ideal material for chemical water treatment.
Quartz sand filter media functions as a filtering agent, much like water seeping through sand and gravel into the ground, trapping suspended solids in the water. It is primarily used to target fine suspended particles.
1. The sum of the crushing rate and wear rate of quartz sand filter media should not exceed 1.5% (percentage by mass, the same applies below);
2. The density of quartz sand filter media should not be less than 2.55 g/cm³, except for cases where special density requirements are specified during use.
3. Quartz sand filter media shall contain no visible mud, mica, or organic impurities. The water leachate of the filter media shall not contain toxic substances, and the mud content shall not exceed 1%. The content of light substances with a density less than 2 g/cm³ shall not exceed 0.2%.
4. The ignition loss of quartz sand filter media shall not exceed 0.7%, and the hydrochloric acid solubility shall not exceed 3.5%.
