Product Introduction
Niobium nitride, light gray with a slight yellow tint. Relative density 8.47; melting point 2300°C; heat of formation -237.8 kJ/mol; Mohs hardness 8, microhardness 14.3 GPa; resistivity 200 μΩ·cm. Its superconducting transition critical temperature is 15.6 K. Insoluble in hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, and sulfuric acid; soluble in concentrated acid solutions of hydrofluoric acid and sulfuric acid, as well as in hot alkali or high-concentration alkali solutions, releasing ammonia. When heated in air to 500–800°C, it forms niobium pentoxide while releasing nitrogen. In a vacuum, niobium nitride decomposes to produce metallic niobium. Niobium nitride can form solid solutions with titanium carbide, zirconium carbide, vanadium carbide, tantalum carbide, etc.
Product Applications
Niobium nitride is used as an additive for hard alloys and can also be used to produce high-purity niobium.
Packaging and Storage
This product is packaged in inert gas-filled plastic bags and should be stored sealed in a dry, cool environment. It should not be exposed to air to prevent moisture-induced oxidative agglomeration, which may affect dispersion performance and usage effectiveness. The packaging quantity can be provided according to customer requirements, with sub-packaging available.
