Product Features

Nano nickel oxide powder is prepared via aerosol ablation method, featuring high purity, small particle size, uniform distribution, large specific surface area, clean surface, no residual impurities, low bulk density, and easy dispersibility. It overcomes the drawbacks of particles prepared by wet chemical methods on the market, such as hard agglomeration, difficult dispersion, and low purity. As a functional material, nano nickel oxide is primarily used in industry as a catalyst and semiconductor material.(Raw materials such as pressure-sensitive and heat-sensitive elements), magnetic materials, glass and ceramic colorants, etc.
Product Applications
1. **Nanoscale Nickel Oxide in Catalysts**: Nanoscale NiO is an effective oxidation catalyst with strong catalytic performance. Ni²⁺ possesses a 3d orbital, exhibiting a preferential adsorption tendency for multi-electron oxygen, activation effects on other reducing gases, and catalytic action on O₂ in reducing gases. In the decomposition, synthesis, and transformation of organic compounds—such as gasoline hydrocracking, hydrocarbon conversion in petrochemical processing, and heavy oil hydrogenation—nanoscale NiO serves as an excellent catalyst. In the catalytic combustion of natural gas, to prevent excessive reaction temperatures that cause N₂ in the air to oxidize into NOx and generate unburned CO, the NiO/CuO–ZrO₂ composite catalyst is used to enhance high-temperature stability. In the synthesis of carbon nanotubes, the NiO/SiO₂ composite catalyst is employed. Higher Ni content results in higher yield and narrower diameter distribution of synthesized carbon nanotubes, while the content and morphology of NiO directly influence the yield and characteristics of carbon nanotubes. In wastewater treatment, NiO acts as a catalyst for removing CH₄ and N₂ and promoting NOx decomposition. As a photocatalyst for degrading acid red dyes, nanoscale NiO demonstrates highly significant effects in treating organic dye wastewater.
2. Nano nickel oxide is used as a ceramic additive and glass colorant: In ceramic products, nano NiO is used to enhance impact resistance. When NiO is added at 0.02 (wt)%, it can also improve various electrical properties of the material, such as piezoelectric and dielectric properties. In glass, nano NiO is primarily used to control color. For example, brown transparent glass that absorbs ultraviolet rays and maintains color stability contains a small amount of NiO. Transparent glass mirrors and decorative glass also incorporate an appropriate amount of nano NiO as a colorant.
3. Application of Nano-Nickel Oxide in Battery Electrodes: With the continuous development of communication and information technology, capacitors have also seen significant advancements. Current supercapacitors have become a research hotspot due to their much higher energy density than electrostatic capacitors and much higher power density than traditional chemical power sources. Studies have shown that ruthenium oxide is currently the most researched and best-performing electrode material for electrochemical capacitors. However, its high cost has hindered its large-scale application. Additionally, the high internal resistance of activated carbon has shifted attention toward transition metal oxides. Transition metal oxides, due to their pseudocapacitance properties, have become electrode materials for supercapacitors. Currently, battery electrode materials made from oxides of Ni, Mn, Co, etc., which have low internal resistance, low cost, and high specific capacity, have attracted significant attention. In molten carbonate fuel cells, NiO is used as the cathode, and coal gas or natural gas is used as fuel, making it a clean energy source with higher power generation efficiency than traditional thermal power. Moreover, compared to ordinary NiO batteries, nano-NiO batteries exhibit significant discharge advantages, with notably increased discharge capacity and improved electrode electrochemical performance.
4. Application of Nano Nickel Oxide in Sensors: NiO has gained increasing attention in recent years as a gas sensor material. Currently, formaldehyde sensors, CO sensors, H2 sensors, and others made from nano NiO have been applied in practical production.
Packaging and Storage
This product is packaged in inert gas-filled plastic bags and should be stored sealed in a dry, cool environment. It should not be exposed to air to prevent moisture-induced oxidative agglomeration, which may affect dispersion performance and usage effectiveness. Packaging quantities can be provided according to customer requirements, with sub-packaging available.
