Product Name: Nickel Oxide
Product Description: Nickel oxide is used as an enamel adhesion agent and colorant in enamelware, ceramic pigments, nickel-zinc ferrite in magnetic materials, brown-tinted glass in glass manufacturing, colorant for picture tube glass shells, and as a raw material for producing nickel salts and nickel catalysts.
Trait: | Powder form, color varies from yellow-green to green depending on the calcination temperature, density 6.67 g/cm³, melting point 1990°C. Soluble in acids, ammonia water, hot perchloric acid, and hot sulfuric acid; insoluble in water and liquid ammonia. When heated in air to 400°C, it absorbs oxygen and transforms into Ni₂O₃, and at 600°C, it reduces back to NiO. NiO obtained by low-temperature calcination exhibits chemical activity, while NiO calcined above 1000°C has low activity. As the temperature increases, density and electrical resistance increase, while solubility and catalytic activity decrease. | ||||||
