Diatomaceous earth
Diatomaceous earth is composed of amorphous SiO2 and contains small amounts of Fe2O3, CaO, MgO, Al2O3, and impurities. It is typically light yellow or light gray in color, soft, porous, and lightweight. In industry, it is commonly used as insulation material, filter material, filler, abrasive material, raw material for water glass, decolorizing agent, diatomaceous earth filter aid, catalyst carrier, and more. The industrial filler applications of diatomaceous earth include wettable powders, dryland herbicides, paddy field herbicides, and various biological pesticides.
Diatomite-based urban sewage treatment technology is a physicochemical method for wastewater treatment, with modified diatomite sewage treatment agents being the key to this technology. Based on this, the corresponding process flow and facilities enable the technology to achieve stable and cost-effective treatment of urban sewage. However, as an emerging technology, there are still some issues to be resolved in both theoretical research and practical engineering applications.
