Quicklime
Product Introduction: Calcium oxide, commonly known as quicklime, is a common chemical compound. In Old English, lime was referred to as "lïm," which is the origin of the modern English colloquial name "lime." Calcium oxide is typically extracted from limestone or shells by heating materials containing calcium carbonate to 500–600°C, causing it to decompose into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide.
Mainly used in: steel, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, desiccants, leather tanning, and alcohol dehydration, among others. Quicklime generally contains overburned lime, which hydrates slowly. If hydration occurs after the lime paste has hardened, the expansion caused by hydration can lead to bulging and cracking.
