It is a resistance heating element made of lanthanum chromite (LaCrO3).It can achieve a surface temperature of 1,900°C (effective furnace temperature of 1,850°C).There are multifunctional Type B (rod type) and Type UB with support tubes, which are very suitable for box furnaces.
