  • Product Introduction

HaoMai Drying recommends using a specialized spray dryer for dragon fruit juice. This equipment features advanced technology, energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, stable quality, and automatic temperature control to ensure the quality of the material.

I. Specialized Spray Dryer for Dragon Fruit Juice:

The high-speed centrifugal spray dryer specifically designed for dragon fruit juice is the most widely used process in liquid forming and drying industries. It is particularly suitable for producing powdered or granular solid products from solutions, emulsions, suspensions, and plastic paste-like liquid raw materials. Therefore, when the particle size distribution, residual moisture content, bulk density, and particle shape of the final product must meet precise standards, spray drying is an ideal process.
II. Working Principle of Dragon Fruit Powder Dryer:
1. System Working Principle:
The air, after being filtered and heated, enters the air distributor at the top of the dryer, where the hot air spirals evenly into the drying chamber. The feed liquid passes through the high-speed centrifugal atomizer at the top of the tower, being (rotationally) sprayed into extremely fine mist-like droplets, which come into concurrent contact with the hot air and are dried into the final product within a very short time. The finished product is continuously discharged from the bottom of the drying tower and the cyclone separator, while the exhaust gas is expelled into the atmosphere by a fan.

2. Working principle of the nebulizer:
When the feed liquid enters the feed pipe of the atomizer, it is rapidly delivered to the high-speed rotating atomization disc after one or two distributions of the feed liquid. Due to the centrifugal force, the feed liquid spreads into a thin film on the surface of the rotating atomization disc and moves toward the edge of the disc at an increasing speed. When it leaves the edge of the disc, the feed liquid is atomized, resulting in droplet, filament, and film fragmentation. Which type of fragmentation dominates depends on factors such as the rotational speed of the atomizer, the feed rate, the properties of the feed liquid, and the shape and diameter of the atomization disc. The droplet size is primarily determined by the peripheral speed of the atomization disc.
III. Technical Features of the Pitaya Juice Spray Drying Tower:
The drying speed is fast. After the feed liquid is atomized by a high-speed centrifugal atomizer, its surface area is greatly increased. In the hot air flow, 95% to 98% of the moisture can be evaporated instantly, and the drying process is completed in just a few seconds, making it especially suitable for drying heat-sensitive materials.
The product exhibits excellent uniformity, flowability, and solubility, with high purity and superior quality. The production process is simplified, and operation control is convenient. For liquids with a moisture content of 40–60% (up to 90% for special materials), it can be dried into powder or granular products in a single step, eliminating the need for crushing and screening after drying, thereby reducing production steps and improving product purity. The particle size, bulk density, and moisture content of the product can be adjusted within a certain range by modifying operating conditions, making control and management highly convenient.
IV. Trial Run of the Spray Dryer for Dragon Fruit Juice:
1. Determine the required inlet and exhaust air temperatures based on the properties of the material, and supply power to the electric heater.
2. Once the temperature reaches the preset value, start the feed pump and gradually increase the flow rate through variable frequency speed regulation until it reaches the specified value (the **flow rate value** during material testing), and proceed with the normal drying process.
3. Use the electric hammer button to perform intermittent tapping.
4. After drying for a period of time, take out a small amount of the finished product and check whether it meets the specified requirements after drying.

If it does not meet the requirements, the following measures can be taken:
1. Adjust the feed pump to change the flow rate.
2. Adjust the electric heating to change the air temperature.
3. If equipped with a variable frequency atomizer turntable, the rotation speed can be adjusted.
V. Shutdown of the spray dryer dedicated to dragon fruit juice:
First, turn off the atomizer, then sequentially shut down the electric heating (steam heating) and the induced draft fan. After turning off the electric heating, use an electric hammer to tap the cylinder wall. After a certain interval, then shut down the induced draft fan. This helps with material collection.
VI. Maintenance and Care of the Dragon Fruit Juice Dryer:
To ensure the centrifugal nozzle operates smoothly at high speeds, its maintenance is particularly important.
1. If unusual noise or vibration occurs during the operation of the spray nozzle, stop the machine immediately and remove the nozzle to check if there is any residual material attached to the spray disc. If so, clean it promptly.
2. Check the bearings, bushings, shafts, gears, and other transmission components for any abnormalities. If any are found, promptly replace the damaged parts.
3. The mechanical drive nozzle operates with high-speed gear rotation and requires continuous circulation of high-speed lubricating and cooling oil to ensure proper lubrication of the gears, shafts, and bearings. (Hydraulic oil or spindle oil can be used.) The viscosity of the oil should not be too high.
4. To extend the service life of the nozzles, **use them alternately, switching every 8 hours or as needed**. The lubricating oil for rolling bearings should be replaced every 150–200 hours. During operation, press the oil cup switch every 1–2 hours to add a few drops of lubricating oil to lubricate the bushing. Simply flip the small handle on top of the oil cup up and down a few times; excessive lubrication may contaminate the product.
5. After use, the spray disc should be removed and immersed in water to clean off any residual substances with water. If water alone cannot remove the residue, use a brush to scrub it clean. Residual substances on the spray disc can cause imbalance, severely affecting the service life of the nozzle and potentially damaging other components.
6. When disassembling or assembling the spray head, care should be taken not to bend the main shaft. When installing the spray disc, use a spacer to control the gap between the disc and the housing. The nut securing the spray disc must be tightened to prevent loosening or detachment.
7. After the nozzle has finished working and during transportation, it must not be placed horizontally. Improper placement may cause the spindle to bend, affecting its use. Therefore, a fixed stand should be used for storage.
