The equipment shell is a vertical cylindrical or polygonal cylinder. For vacuum or airtight operations, considering the stress conditions of the equipment, it is typically cylindrical in shape. A frame is installed inside to secure and position multiple layers of horizontal annular hollow heating plates. The spacing between the upper and lower plates is fixed, and the hollow sections of the heating plates can be filled with heat transfer media such as steam, hot water, or hot oil. Baffles or support rods are added in the middle to enhance rigidity and strength. Each layer of heating plates is equipped with inlet and outlet pipes, which can be assembled in series, parallel, or a combination of both, allowing independent control of the temperature of each heating plate and adjustment of the temperature distribution within the equipment. If required by the process, the bottom heating plate can be supplied with a coolant to lower the product temperature, recover heat, and prevent the material in the fixed bed from overheating and deteriorating as its temperature approaches the wall temperature of the heating plate during the later stages. Each layer of heating plates is fitted with 2 to 4 stirring arms, on which several rake blades shaped like plowshares are installed. The stirring arms are positioned horizontally, staggered and fixed to the central main shaft, and driven by an external variable-speed drive device, rotating at a speed of 1 to 8 r/min. The form and quantity of the rake blades are determined based on the operating conditions and residence time, and their structure should allow for elastic movement, enabling the bottom edge to float freely on the plate surface.
