Catalyst Dryer

Catalysts are an important category in the chemical industry with a wide range of applications. The production of catalysts requires high technical standards in processes such as granulation, drying, and calcination. Based on the characteristics of this industry and years of extensive communication and technical research with users, Haomai Drying has successfully developed a variety of specialized complete drying equipment for catalyst production. These systems meet the production requirements of various capacities and have received widespread praise from users.

Reinforced Airflow Dryer for Catalysts

The characteristic of the pulse airflow dryer is that the diameter of the airflow drying tube alternately decreases and expands. By using a pulse airflow drying tube, the high heat and mass transfer efficiency of the acceleration section can be fully utilized to enhance the drying process. The added wet material, after being crushed by the intensifier, first enters the drying tube with a smaller diameter, where the particles are accelerated. When their accelerated motion ends, the drying tube diameter suddenly expands, and the particles rely on inertia to enter the drying tube with a larger diameter. During motion, the particles continuously decelerate due to resistance until deceleration ends. The drying tube then suddenly contracts, causing the particles to accelerate again. This process of alternately reducing and expanding the tube diameter repeats, resulting in alternating acceleration and deceleration of particle motion speed. The relative velocity between air and particles, as well as the heat transfer area, are both relatively large, thereby enhancing the heat and mass transfer rate. Additionally, the decrease in airflow velocity within the expanded tube correspondingly increases the drying time.

Catalyst DryerAfter purification, the external air is heated to approximately 500°C by a gas-fired hot air furnace before entering the drying tube. The wet material is fed into the intensifier by a screw feeder for crushing and then enters the airflow acceleration drying tube. Inside the acceleration tube, the material is dispersed by the high-speed hot airflow and suspended in the hot air, with the gas and solid moving in a concurrent flow. The hot air transfers heat to the material, which rapidly undergoes heat and mass exchange upon absorbing the heat. The evaporated moisture enters the air, thus continuously undergoing gas-solid heat and mass transfer processes in the pulse airflow drying tube. By the time the material reaches the upper part of the drying tube, its moisture content is close to the critical moisture level (i.e., the constant-rate drying process of the material ends). Subsequently, the material drying enters the deceleration drying phase. When the mixture enters the cyclone separator, the moist air is separated from the material. The dry material is recovered from the bottom of the cyclone, while the exhaust gas is discharged into the atmosphere by the induced draft fan.
