**Product Introduction:**
Silicon carbide whiskers are single-crystal fibers with very few defects and a certain aspect ratio. They possess excellent high-temperature resistance and very high strength. They are primarily used for toughening materials in applications requiring high temperature and high strength, such as aerospace materials and high-speed cutting tools. Currently, they offer a very high performance-to-price ratio.
Silicon carbide whiskers are cubic whiskers, belonging to the same crystal type as diamond. Among the whiskers synthesized to date, they exhibit ultra-high hardness, ultra-large modulus, ultra-high tensile strength, and ultra-high heat resistance. They are classified into two forms: α-type and β-type, with the β-type outperforming the α-type in terms of higher hardness (Mohs hardness exceeding 9.5), better toughness and electrical conductivity, as well as wear resistance, high-temperature resistance, and exceptional resistance to earthquakes, corrosion, and radiation. These whiskers have already been applied in aircraft shells, engines, high-temperature turbine rotors, and specialized components.
