Pulse dust collector

The actual dust-cleaning process of a pulse jet dust collector can be described as follows: during the pulse, the cleaning airflow causes a rapid increase in pressure inside the filter bag, leading to its swift outward expansion. When the bag wall reaches its maximum expansion limit, the significant tension subjects it to intense impact and vibration, generating a **reverse acceleration that causes it to begin contracting inward. However, the dust layer attached to the filter bag's surface is not affected by this tension; instead, it detaches from the filter bag due to inertial forces. The greater the reverse acceleration, the stronger the inertia, and the better the dust-cleaning effect.**

In the study of the cleaning mechanism of pulse-jet bag filters, it was once believed that several cleaning mechanisms of mechanical shaking bag filters (such as acceleration, shear, buckling-tension, twisting, and reverse airflow) also applied to pulse-jet bag filters. In reality, pulse-jet cleaning shares similarities with the blasting process. In addition to reverse acceleration, the pressure peak and pressure rise rate inside the filter bag during cleaning are also important indicators for evaluating cleaning effectiveness. Using the three indicators of **pressure peak inside the filter bag**, **pressure rise rate**, and **reverse acceleration of the filter bag wall** to assess cleaning effectiveness is applicable not only to pulse-jet bag filters but also to reverse-air cleaning bag filters.

In the past, it was believed that during the cleaning process of a pulse-jet dust collector, the pulse airflow would rush from the bag mouth to the bottom of the filter bag, and as it was reflected back from the bottom, the pressure inside the filter bag would further increase, causing the bag wall to be impacted and vibrated, thereby dislodging the dust from the filter bag's surface. Current research now indicates that the cleaning effect of the pulse-jet airflow inside the filter bag is a one-time event. As the high-pressure air mass moves from the bag mouth to the bottom, it sequentially dislodges the dust from the filter bag's surface. The **primary impact** of the cleaning airflow on the filter bag is decisive for the cleaning process.

During the pulse-jet dust collector's cleaning process, the **pressure peak occurs at a certain point in the upper half of the filter bag rather than at the bag mouth. The area near the bag mouth serves as the induction zone, where the pressure peak is actually very low. As the cleaning airflow gradually moves from the bag mouth to the bag bottom, the pressure peak rapidly increases from its lowest value at the bag mouth to its maximum, then gradually decreases, becoming relatively low at the bag bottom.** Therefore, the pressure peak at the bag bottom of the pulse-jet dust collector is the target value for designing the cleaning system. Its magnitude should be sufficient to ensure thorough cleaning of the bag bottom without causing excessive impact.
