The grinding rollers of the Pailer TM PTR three-roll mill are made of a bimetallic composition, with a wear-resistant layer hardness of 540-560 HB (Brinell hardness). The pressure of the grinding rollers is controlled by a hydraulic system, exerting no pressure on the frame. The grinding rollers are easy to disassemble, replacing the old heavy cast steel frame structure with a steel plate welded frame, reducing equipment weight and facilitating maintenance. The pressure of each roller can be individually and precisely adjusted.
The automatic lubrication system can accurately apply lubricating oil to both sides of the bearings, reducing bearing wear. The grinding roller has a wall thickness of 20/40mm, which, compared to conventional grinding rollers with a wall thickness of 80mm, offers the advantages of lighter weight and higher cooling efficiency. Each grinding roller can be individually cooled or heated, with precise temperature control up to +/-1 °C. The grinding roller has a large thermal capacity, ensuring uniform temperature distribution across all sections. Compared to conventional three-roll mills with the same roller length, Puhler's three-roll mill features higher rotational speed, better cooling, and higher output.
Due to the special design of the bearings, roller pressure control, and cooling system of the Puhler three-roll mill, the roller speed can be increased from 430 rpm to 600 rpm. The drive motor features mechanical stepless speed regulation, and the unique design of the hydraulic device allows for different roller speeds depending on the product being processed.
The hydraulic system includes a hydraulic oil tank, hydraulic pump, relief valve, filter, and cooler. The pressure and temperature of the hydraulic system can be controlled, and the control panel is equipped with manual buttons.
Since the only parts of the equipment that come into contact with the material are the three grinding rollers, cleaning is simple, and disassembly requires no tools. An ultrasonic monitoring probe monitors the product liquid level. If there is insufficient material in the roller gap, the machine is automatically controlled to stop, preventing dry grinding.
The scraper maintains constant pressure against the discharge roller through the hydraulic system, scraping off excess material and reducing roller wear. This prevents equipment damage caused by improper operation. The baffle-type scraper is economical, durable, and quick to replace. All components that come into contact with the material, including the collection tray, are made of stainless steel for easy cleaning.
