During the processes of sintering, grinding, and packaging, lithium iron phosphate is transported in a closed manner. The grinding system is equipped with a jet mill, using high-temperature dry nitrogen as the grinding gas source to perform opposed jet instantaneous drying of lithium iron phosphate, enabling simultaneous grinding and drying. This system resolves the issue of needing continuous drying of intermediate products during the lithium iron phosphate production process, saving energy and reducing production costs.

By utilizing high-temperature drying gas, it achieves ultrafine grinding of the cathode material lithium iron phosphate for lithium batteries while simultaneously performing heat and mass transfer and instantaneous drying of surface moisture on the material through a supersonic gas jet swirl flow field. This enables the integration of ultrafine grinding and trace moisture drying for lithium iron phosphate. When the feed moisture is 3000 PPM and the feed particle size is d50=20-30um, the integrated grinding and drying process yields a final product with a particle size of d50=0.6-2um, d100=4-10um, and a final moisture content of 200-500 PPM. Taking a production line with an annual output of 3000 tons as an example, the energy consumption per ton is 650-900 RMB/ton, and the nitrogen consumption is 410-600 Nm³.3/h. Compared with traditional double-cone drying or roller hearth furnace drying combined with ultrafine grinding processes, this method saves 4.5 to 5.5 million yuan in energy consumption annually. At the same time, the ultrafine grinding and drying processes are realized through a fully closed-loop pneumatic conveying system, ensuring zero dust pollution throughout the entire production process. This technology effectively integrates ultrafine grinding for lithium iron phosphate with micro-level moisture control on the surface of ultrafine particles, successfully addressing the current challenges that limit the lifespan and safety of lithium batteries. It represents a major breakthrough in the preparation of ultrafine lithium iron phosphate powder for lithium battery cathode materials.
