It has a pH value of 10.5 (at 20°C, concentration of 10g/l), a melting point of 270.4°C, and a decomposition point of 277-284°C. It is readily soluble in acidic water, slightly soluble in methanol and water, and easily reacts with oxidizing agents. Calcium acetylacetonate is widely used in various industries, especially in the fine chemicals sector. It is a cost-effective heat stabilizer and a non-toxic new type of plastic stabilizer, offering better cost performance compared to organotin series stabilizers.
