Sandblasted Black Silicon Carbide, First Grade Black Silicon Carbide, 54 Mesh 60 Mesh
The black silicon carbide used in abrasive production has high purity, uniform particle size, high bulk density, and high cleanliness, making it suitable for manufacturing abrasive products such as resin grinding wheels, ceramic grinding wheels, grinding wheels, and polishing wheels.
Black silicon carbide is an artificial abrasive produced by smelting carbonaceous materials and siliceous materials at high temperatures in large resistance furnaces. The carbonaceous materials include petroleum coke or coal coke, while the siliceous materials primarily consist of quartz sand. Additionally, additives such as sawdust and salt are incorporated during the smelting process. Typically, first-grade silicon carbide exhibits a bright appearance with iridescent reflections. The higher its purity, the better its physical and chemical properties. Black silicon carbide has a slightly lower hardness than green silicon carbide, with a Mohs hardness of 9.2-9.3, which is higher than that of corundum abrasives.
Characteristics of Blasted Black Silicon Carbide, First-Grade Black Silicon Carbide (54 Mesh and 60 Mesh):
1. High purity, acid-washed black silicon carbide can achieve a purity of up to 99%.
2. Superior oxidation resistance and chemical stability: When heated to 1000°C in air, silicon carbide only oxidizes on the surface, forming a layer of silicon dioxide film that protects the silicon carbide material from oxidation. The oxidation resistance of silicon carbide only decreases rapidly when heated above 1627°C.
3. High Hardness: Black silicon carbide has a Mohs hardness of 9.2-9.3, slightly lower than that of green silicon carbide.
4. The toughness of black silicon carbide is higher than that of green silicon carbide.
5. High bulk density, black silicon carbide particles produced through the shaping process are more rounded.
6. High cleanliness: after crushing, it undergoes a secondary water wash, reducing dust in the abrasive material.
